Cobblestones and smiles = Roobiax shenanigans

Bill recently took off to Victoria for his annual June long weekend pilgrimage to the Melburn Roobaix

This a participation event where ‘winning’ is frowned upon and simply enjoying the cobblestones, cow bells and dressing up are encouraged. Pictured is ‘Maverick’ and ‘Goose’ from Top Gun – with their aviators on and Kenny Loggins ‘Danger Zone’ dialed to 11 for the entire event!

The event started at a velodrome at one end of Melbourne and snaked its way through ye olde cobblestoned back streets and laneways to finish at the Brunswick velodrome at the other end of town. Enthusiastic residents cheered the riders on with cow bells and noise makers as they bounced their way around the course.

A lot of fun was had – made all the more enjoyable with cafe stops and coffees and a pub for a schnitzel and beers for lunch [fuel choice for champs!].

A brief write up and more photos about the event here
